In the opening round of the Ed Burns Coffee Pot Tournament, Concord-Carlisle boys hockey battled Division 1 powerhouse Marshfield to a 1-1 tie through two periods before Marshfield broke through for the winning goal with six minutes left in the contest.
Grasso scored early in the first period, and the defense limited the number of shots on Sam Griswold’s net, enabling the Patriots to lead Dual County League rival Newton South from start to finish in the January 21 contest. The 5-1 victory marked the 150th win for Coach Rian Murray.
