A ‘psych dinner’ is dinner for players of a team as a team-building exercise before a game.
Who: Dinner for players only
When: Typically the night prior to a game, directly following a practice or at a set time.
How: One family hosts the players of either the Varsity or JV team at their house and another family helps serve the food and clean up. The host and helper(s) provide the food, often lasagna or chicken parmesan or other food that can be prepared in volume, along with chocolate milk, water, or other drink. Often there is a salad and a dessert. Some families choose to buy take-out from Comellas or other restaurant instead of making. The boys typically trickle in by ones and twos from practice, eat when a critical mass of players arrive, then leave. Usually they don’t linger long after eating.
